TULSA, Okla.
(AP) Grace Community College is closing its doors this year and plans to move to a new location in 2018, the school’s board announced Monday.
The college announced the move Monday and also said it would no longer accept new applications for next year.
Grace is a private, nonprofit Christian school.
Grace Community College spokesman Tim Ritter said the decision was made to reduce its staff and improve its facilities, but it was not a decision to shut down or close.
The announcement comes as the U.S. Supreme Court is hearing a case about whether students have a right to religious freedom at private schools.
A district court ruling in February gave the government broad authority to bar public school students from participating in Christian ministries or activities.
The Supreme Court heard oral arguments Monday in a case involving Grace, which offers a Bible-based faith curriculum.
