How you can help protect your health from mosquitoes: CDC

The mosquito-borne illness coronavirus is spreading across the country, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has warned residents to stay indoors.

Here’s what you need to know to protect yourself.

1.

You should wash your hands regularly 1.1.

Use soap or a mild detergent if soap or other water is not available.

1:1: Use soap.

If soap isn’t available, use a mild soap that contains only essential oils.

You can use a neutral soap.

You’ll get a much softer feel and a less harsh odor.

1Beware: The soap can also contain chlorine, which can cause diarrhea, nausea and vomiting.

Wash your face and neck frequently 2.1: Wash your hands frequently with soap and water, then pat dry.

Use mild detergents if soap is not readily available.

If the soap isn`t available, try a mild hand cleaner that contains both essential oils and detergants.

2Beware chlorine: If you wash your face with soap, it can cause skin irritation, so wash with a mild cleaner.

2:2: Avoid touching your eyes with your mouth, especially when it`s hot.

Avoid touching or holding your face or neck.

Avoid sitting or lying down in hot weather.

If it feels like you`re going to heat up, try to stay cool.

Don`t go swimming.

It may make you feel sick if you`ve been swimming in water that contains chlorine.

Use gloves when working in a hot environment, especially during construction.

Wash in cold water and use cool water for cooking.

7.

Avoid drinking water that has chlorine.

8.

Wash hands before handling raw foods or other foods with chlorine.

9.

Use a water filter to filter out waste products that may have chlorine.

10.

Wear protective clothing when cooking.

11.

Avoid going outside when temperatures are above 65 degrees F. 12.

Avoid taking medications with the flu.

13.

Never use a hand sanitizer that contains alcohol or chlorine.

14.

Never touch your eyes, nose, or mouth with your hand.

15.

Wear goggles and a face mask when cleaning your face.

16.

If you`ll be staying at a hotel, take extra care with the area around you and make sure your room has no openings or crevices.

17.

Do not allow children under 13 years old to stay in your home.

18.

Do NOT use a mask on children under 6 years old.

19.

If possible, keep your pets indoors.

20.

Never put the children in the same room as the adults.

21.

Wear a mask when you`d like to drink hot water or eat food.

22.

If there`s a chance that you`m infected, get tested for the virus.

23.

If symptoms of the coronaviruses return, see a doctor immediately.
